It is with extremely heavy hearts that we must say that the Fuiava’s will be leaving Tahiti indefinitely.
Our visas expire in September and originally we had been planning to return and renew those visas. As of today, this will no longer be the case. As you know, since January this year we have been in Seattle being caregivers for Live's ill mom Linda. The great news is, she has been recovering extremely well. Unfortunately, that means that the urgency of her heart surgery, originally due in July, will be pushed back, allowing her to recover and gain even more strength. Livé will be flying back to Tahiti in the next week or two to pack up our apartment and close out all our accounts. We have appreciated everyones prayer and support. The reality of this decision is still very new and raw. Your prayers have done so much for us, and we may still need them yet! For the immediate time being we are living in Seattle in an apartment with Livé’s mother, Linda. We are still acting as her caregivers and helping in her recovery. One thing that became apparent to us was God’s heart towards honouring and caring for our mom as well as needing to make a decision to be permanently closer to family; while still allowing us to walk in our desire to continue to pursue and serve him in a full time missions context. We are praying and desiring to join staff with YWAM Ships Kona and for Livé to attend their School of Navigation and Seamanship. We are working towards this as an option for our family in 2015, pending being accepted on staff as well as Live’s moms health concerns continuing to improve.
