Her role, or more accurately "roles," is more difficult to pass on. It would actually take four people to properly take on the responsibilities and roles that she has been developing since 2015. She is aiming to transition from her role by April, though she was aiming for January. It's been very challenging as Tessa's team has been in a large flux lately but it is the largest it's ever been. When April rolls around we will focus more of our time making forming a ministry network, setting up our admin, seeking God's heart for Vancouver Island, and finishing well with YWAM Ships Kona. Our launch is still planned for June 2018.
Some specific things that I'm implementing from our leadership development course is:
There's a lot I can share about each of those points but I can do that in future updates as each of these has an intrinsic connection with what we're aiming to establish on Vancouver Island. I will quickly touch on the latter point. The Perspectives course, it's a once a week lecture with homework over a 15 week period that focuses on God's global purpose through biblical, historical, cultural and strategic perspectives. This isn't a YWAM course so it's open to everyone but the purpose of it is to mobilize the body of Christ into God's global purpose of revealing His glory to the nations! Once I have completed this course I will be able to take a short facilitator workshop so that we can offer this to Christians in Nanaimo. Thanks for reading!
